New Village Defibrillator

16 May 2019
Milstead Parish Council is please to announce that the purchase and installation of a new Defibrillator in the old BT phone box adjacent to Milstead Village Hall has now taken place.

The cabinet is installed, and the defibrillator activated with the not registered poster attached to the front of the cabinet. This must stay in place until the ambulance service have confirmed that our site is live on on their CAD system. This has now happened so the defibrillator is ready for use and is checked once a month to make sure it is ready for use.

If someone has a cardiac arrest and both CPR and a defibrillator are used within three minutes, the chance of survival could be as high as 70%.

MPC will be holding familiarisation training for the Defib in due course for all local residents – we would welcome your attendance as one day – IT COULD BE YOU?

With thanks again to the Alice Wyatt Charity and Frinstead & Milstead Cricket Club for their generous donations and to all who helped clean the phone box.
